Roy Cash, a retired U.S. Navy Captain, has composed numerous songs, including two that were recorded by his uncle, Johnny Cash, and several others that appear on various Johnny Cash albums. One of the songs initially recorded by Johnny Cash – “I Still Miss Someone” – has since been recorded by over 80 artists. Roy has also appeared in one movie, “A Fine Step”, featuring the late Luke Perry. Roy is active in his community and serves on the boards of various church and community organizations. Roy’s perspectives on life as a career Navy fighter pilot are gripping and motivating and include presentations on character, integrity and our nation’s Godly heritage. He was awarded 25 military and combat ribbons and medals, including the Silver Star Medal (the Nation’s third highest award for valor in combat) for downing a Russian-made MiG-21 jet fighter during intense air combat over North Vietnam in July 1968. In September 2017, Roy met the NVN pilot he shot down; they are now “Friends Forever.” Roy was shot down by AAA fire in June 1972 near Haiphong, North Vietnam, and rescued at sea by helicopter, unharmed.
